Starlook's Starbox January 2014: Surprise Yourself!
This month Starlooks sent out different boxes to their subscribers, as opposed to everyone getting the same thing.  This month I got:

Infinity Lipstick in Eons (Matte)
Infinity Lipstick in Endless (Satin)
Infinity Eye Liner in Milky Way
Oh...and a cute little crystal

I am officially in love with their makeup products.  Their tendergloss is beautiful as is the infinity lipstick.
I really wanted to try the Milky Way eyeliner when I saw it on their website. I am not sure how to wear it exactly. Today I wore it as an all over base and put colors from the December pallet over it. Can't wait to experiment with it! I am already counting the days till next month!

So excuse my face below, but I wanted to show what I did. I used Milky Way as a base and then used colors from the December Starlooks pallet over it. I have on the Tendergloss as well. The little girl is my niece. I did the exact same thing to her but I did it a bit more dramatic and actually like it better. I love playing dress up! And I love Starlooks!

Julep Maven: January 2014

So I had an opportunity to get a free box from Julep, as long as I paid the shipping. So here is what I got:

I got the Welcome Box from the "It Girl" style (you can choose to get a box from five different styles based on a quiz or just by picking the box that month that you like best). 

From left to right, the colors are:

• Libby: Rich teal crème
• Elle: Plum frost
• Bunny: Crisp white linen with fine gold shimmer
• Bette: Electric neon purple crème

The color on the right (brightest magenta) was an add-on for $5. Normally, with their subscription, you get three nail polishes, or two nail polishes and a beauty product (makeup or skin care) depending on which subscription you choose. I used the 50% off coupon and, when my next order comes, I will cancel the subscription. I really don't need more nail polishes and would rather spend my hard earned dollars on the other subs.  But their nail polish line has amazing colors and cute packaging.  Takes forever to dry though!

Here is what I am getting though. Super excited!

It's called "Hot Spell" and contains:

• Natasha - Intense orange crème
• Parker - Golden tangerine crème
• Nikki - Electric highlighter neon yellow crème

Starlooks Starbox: December 2013

This is my first Starlooks Starbox...thank you to my brother and sister-in-law for the awesome Christmas gift! So every December, Starlooks gives a giant pallet worth $99 in their Starbox. Every other month is not this big, but starting this year, they are giving a gift worth $35 on top of the regular box. And since I was gifted this box for the next two months, I will get to see next month heat that gift entails. Their regular boxes don't look so skimpy though!  On average, I read, their boxes contain $75 worth of product  Anyhow... Here is their "New Years Eve" pallet:

(On this last swatch picture, the color on the left is hard to see. It's a nude color that I love, but shows up much better on the eyelid. So, squint really hard and look to the left of the white, and maybe you can see it:)

I LOVE this pallet! I LOVE this makeup! Their eyeshadow is great quality, great colors, applying well and stays a long time. The colors are very multidimensional. You don't notice all the colors, or flecks of sparkle in them, until you out them on. I am impressed and would definitely compare it to MAC's eye shadow. Can't wait to see what's next!

I subscribed and received my very first Ipsy Glam Bag this month! I love this subscription! For $10 a month you get 5 products and a cute little makeup bag each month. Here is what I got in my December "Celebration" Bag:

Be a Bombshell "The One" stick in Sunset  (full size! I love this product! You can use it on your lips, cheeks or eyes! It has a soft, dry finish, so you would want to use it with lip gloss on your lips, but it's a perfect texture for your eyes and cheeks!)

Happy New Year! This month's Birchbox theme is "It's Go Time".  And here is what I got in my box this month:

Coastal Scents Revealed Palette Set (I got a cute little four eyeshadow sample.  I got a shimmery white, a matte black and two medium shimmery brown colors. One is more of a warmer shade while the other has more of a cooler tone)

Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Day Lotion with Clary Sage (I really like this! It smells wonderful and is very velvety. The only bummer for me is that is is considered a Birchbox "find" and is not supposed to count toward one of your box items, which means I received four samples instead of the normal five or six, but that's ok! My samples were good!)

This was a pretty good month for me.

This was an ok box.  Not my favorite, but hey...it's $10! I got my money's worth for sure, so I can't complain. Especially because the previous month's box was so awesome!

Going Back in Time... Birchbox August 2013

I'm going to start my blog going back in time...way, way back... All the way to August when I stumbled upon the word "Birchbox" in a blog about makeup.  See, I was looking through something from Pinterest, trying to find an inexpensive alternative to different makeups (for example...wet and wild has an eyeshadow that looks identical to stila's "kitten") and I found that word.  Intrigued, I googled away and found what would be my very first beauty box subscription.  My goal with this blog is to post info about each boxy that I get, answer any questions you might have about the subscriptions, decode the monthly spoilers, and distract myself from the common day redundancies of working, cooking, cleaning, laundry,  lunch-making (why is that one the worst for me?), etc.  So here we go...
